This may have been posted somewhere, but why have avatar and signature abilities been revoked? Is it some sort of punishment?

Some people are offended when you use the term "gay" in place of "stupid". I know this from personal experience. Personally I think those people need to grow up. The same goes for those who are offended at other words when they're not even used in an offending manner.
