if I take screen shots from your house in Dustball demo and open them in tst tool ( a program) and putt them in a tile, can I use them then?

heh, like everyone already said... It's not that I'm lazy and don't want to give you my tst, it's just that I want to keep these tiles DustBall only for now until the new version comes out with new tiles.

And like Burrow85 said, they are really simple tiles, and you can most likely make your own. And if you don't want to make any tiles, there are other sites that offer tilesets for you to use.

Why don't you just download a game from that illegal game site thing Burrow85 was raving about how stupid or whatever it was and take a scrrenshot, take the tiles, and delete the game before anyone knows you had it?

JK, I wouldn't risk it. Just a stupid suggestion. But if you want....

You're referring to taking edgeemu.com, aren't you?

Listen, all of you, emulation is not illegal, and ROMS of unused classic games are not illegal.

We don't pay any attention to disclaimers. You either have permission or you don't. Also, there IS NO 24 HOUR RULE! That's a myth, and holds no water. Again, you have proper authorization or you don't. All of the copyright agencies have noted that there is no such thing as a 24 hour rule, so it's just as illegal to download/post it for 5 minutes as it is to download/post it for 30 years.

Is distributing ROM images legal?

No, not clearly. Individuals and Companies have a right to back up their software. This does not give them the right to distribute that copy to others, even provided they also own a legal copy of the software. So, in short, it is perfectly legal for you to copy a software package you own, but not for you to give that copy away.

Even still, I'm not going to get into this, not here.. we don't need to spam up another forum ^_^

Everyone's got their own opinion.... it'll be up to the courts to decide on who's right and who's wrong Razz

It's illegal to pirate new, currently selling technology (N64, GBA, and PS1/2 games)

Not the unused classics. Let me quote Edge Emulation:

Quote
Isn't emulation illegal?
No; pirating currently selling high-tech un-obsolete video game systems and games is illegal. Sharing the wealth of unused classics is hardly illegal. The IDSA has contacted us before, and we are prepared to take as many steps as necessary to deal and comply with their requests.

Alrighty, you can believe what you want to, I'll believe what I want to.

We can settle at that, at least I hope.
