Kinda getting familiarized with the stuff right now.

I've been trying to access MSs MySQL server via PHP (assuming we have one?), but have come up with an access request denied prompt.  How do I connect to the appropriate server or what parameters do I use in the mysql_connect() command?

Meh, I remember some people (including Spyder) talking about having played this game, so I was wondering if they were playing the PC version or the one on the 360, and if anyone recomended the 360 make of it.  I looked at it and it seemed pretty enticing, but we all know they don't always turn out that way...  <_<

Well, one thing I've been trying to accomplish is finding a way to create a site both visually pleasing and fast running.  However, since "visually pleasing" tends to end up requiring a monstrous number of images, I'm looking for a way to pre-load all the images needed on the website in a sort of loading screen (think of those movie websites like X3 that pre-load their flash stuff or whatever so it runs faster later on).

If anyone knows of a way to do something like this (any language is fine), I would be interested in learning how.

 Smile

I'm attempting to use an Iframe on a page I'm designing, but I'm trying to get it to have a transperant background so that the background image of the main page will show through.  Is there any way to do this or something to this effect that will allow me to reload the text in a given area without reloading the page?

Well, progress has picked up within the last few days, and tomorrow is finally the last day of school this year! Woohoo!

However, alas it seems I've stumbled across a problem hindering me from playing .wav sound effects while running Mp3 format music using the MediaPlay() command.  If there's a way to get around this, incite would be appriciated, but if there isn't then does anyone out there know where I can find some good oriental-sounding MIDI format music?

Once I get a good deal more of progress I'll release some more shots of my work, but I feel what I have now is inadequate to really bring much attention to myself.  B)

I had just been peeking into MS's tileset section, and it seems someof the items in it got booted up a rating catagory.  I'm not complaining or anything (seeing as how I've got some horrible stuff in there   ), but I guess curiousity killed my cat on this one.

Well you guys, I was just searching through the games on TKZ, and quite frankly I'm shocked.  There were enough 'villages destroyed' and 'revenge' cliches to make my head explode.  So long as theyre presented in an original manner, I see this fine.  But since alot of them had the game start out with some random 15 year old kid having his village slain and parents killed, causing him to seek revenge against his maker.  But what ho?! It seems this man is really his real father. You know? The one he cant remember because he contracted a sever form of amnesia after he was kidnaped from a band of elfs carrying secret scroll which told of a way to unlock all the magics of the world and some other wacko Sephiroth rip off is trying to steal it to exact his own revenge plans upon the planet for exiling him from the country for irrational behavior while in command of his army! Yea, it's that father...

Lame, eh?

Has the verge upon originality come to its end? Is there really no hope?

Post your comments here...

Redundant, I know, but none the less...

I'm still in need of a plug-in or some way to read .txt files in the Toolkit... Most progress is impossible without this tool.  I've completed all of the "server" log-in stuff up untill it actually checks ur information (eh...), which relates as to whether I should let you store your games on the FTP server (should Spyder or Xorlak OK it) or on your own harddrive?

Storage on computer:
Pro: No possibility of someone hacking you.
Con: Can't access your own game from anywhere but your own computer.

Storage on FTP: (opposite)
Pro: Accessibility from any computer with TR installed.
Con: Hackers (should I be "blessed" with such an honor of people liking my game that much  Smile ) could gain you password and mess with your account.

Yea... not as exciting of a question as my description seems, but I'm wondering if anyone is aware of the key for the backspace button (delete).  By this im talking about the If statement and other such commands.

(And if that didn't make sense, as it probably didn't, I mean like you know how you can say If (variable$ == "ENTER"), whats the key for the backspace button (whats in the ENTER's place))

Not really, but hopefully that got your attention.  Smile

Anyways, I've decided to attempt a "daring feat" in the use of the toolkit: making one of the first, if not THE first, online game.  Now I realize, of coarse, that the ToolKit is still limited in its fuctionality, and that I may be unable to have it so you can actually SEE the other players (though that may the whole point of an online game), I wish to at least try to get a friends list sort of thing working as well as one of those nifty, auto-updating highscore charts (those familiar with RS will know exactly what im talking about).

In truth, I would need alot of help or suggestions to pull of this task, so if anyone knows of how to do so, should it be what I've spoken of or any other neat ideas, please by all means tell me!

(Also, if you should know of a way to pull off seeing other people playing as well, while still having the game run smoothly, tell me as well!)

Happy TKing!
