What happens afterward, e.g. if Retan and Kronos turn against each other, Romme and the Crimsons ally, etc. doesn't really matter. All of that can flow naturally from when we pick things back up in chapter 11. None of this needs to be planned.
Basically, I'm asking if everyone would like the setting change, and if most people are willing to let their characters "take a hit". (Heh...) In the new world, nations like Tjed and the Aspyes would exist in severely weakened, "struggling band of freedom fighters" type groups, if they still existed at all.
Also, Retan would cease to be a normal character, and become more of a plot device I use to direct the flow of the story, at least for a while. E.g. If Retan throws a paralizing attack at one of your characters, you play along and have your character get hit by it because you know I'm going to use it to advance the story somehow, rather than dodge. (This is a bit more than what we talked about via PM, Ein.)
DM: What I mean by the "good guys" are all the characters that would show up in two posts if someone suddenly showed up in the middle of the continent and started doing something catostropically evil. (Heh...)
We don't have to discuss how long the chapter interlude will be right now. We can do that after the chapter ends.
