This is a copy of an email I received today. I've changed the names, just in case someone might actually know these people.

Is it possible for my son John, a senior at the High School in Oak Harbor, WA to spend 2 weeks with your company doing his senior project?  His project consists of:  looking into game marketing, finding out the steps involved in creating a successful game, and looking into the programming, animating, audio technology and testing involved in creating a computer game.  John's project is scheduled to take place from May 17 - 28.  Thanks for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

My reply....

Dear Ms. Barber

I'm flattered that you would choose our company for a project such as
this, but in all honesty, Mystic Software is not a professional game
company. Mainly it is just a site that hosts resources for others
using the RPG Toolkit development software to use in creating their
games; as well as an archive of the games made with this software.
Only one game has been made under the company's name (Godiva:Alpha)
and that project has barely been touched for the last three years. I
don't think of myself, or my associates, as professionals, and as
such, I don't believe we could give your son much insight on
professional game creation and marketing. However, if you son plans on
using the RPG Toolkit software to create a game, and wanted to discuss
it on our forums, and/or use the resources provided on our
website; I'm sure myself and the Mystic Software online community
would be more than happy to help him in any way we can. Thanks for
your time, and best of luck to your son and his project.

John Barber

Yeah, the message seemed pretty sincere to me. What I don't get is why the mom contacted me for a High School student. If it were me as the student, I would've contacted MS myself...though, if it were me, I would've figured MS wasn't a professional game company.
