Quote from: "Drannic_Lord01"
Helternia, Rivertown

"Wow, you really are a fool. Duilin, let's take this whelp down!" With a wrenching motion of his neck and a snarl, Aaron leapt back into the air at a tremendous rate, but alas, wasn't high enough. His blade, however, just reached Draven's lower torso and he slashed horizontally after him.

"Blast! Jacobie, John, Marrik, hold them off! I'm getting closer..." They did as the angelic warrior told and used their main elements against elementals of opposite elements, hoping to use their elemental weakness to their advantage. Little did they know that they actually HAD to do so...

(House Shield at 35%)

Uh, Xorlak? You gonna respond to my attack?

Duilin, Valos and his squad were about to leave Helternia to attack Nex's fortress but suddenly Draven and his elemental warriors attacks. In the midst of the battle the Kandarin's join the fray.  I think the elementals and the zombies are dead, but Draven and Kronos remain. Duilin is rather annoyed and is trying to get them away.

I think I missed quite a bit more than two lines, considering I've been gone two chapters.

You seem to always come up with an epic pun with Kronos, even in the most misty of situations that he could get himself in (and often does).

Really? Well that means I didn't miss much when I was away, did I? That's sad, though... DAL needs some more insipration to get some epic storylines going again, like in post chapter 10.

- Helternia, Rivertown -

No response came from the black orb.  Instead, it collapsed.

With the force of an avalanche, the black sphere collapsed to the size of a grain of dust.  Winds gailed around as air sucked into the void, followed by stones and boulders of debris.  A tree uprooted and twisted in the air, before squeezing into the tiny space.  The billowing winds grew and grew. Hungrily, the black hole drank all matter it could grasp...

Ok, did that JUST happen, or did I miss something? I'm a little confused right about now...

Quote from: "D. Ein"
Six ripping noises later, Draven was surrounded completely by a black orb, which was actually a series of portals put closely together. I lowered myself back down on the ground, and approached the sphere of blackness. If this fails, he might as well burn me down, too.

-"Say, Draven," I said, chuckling. "Must be a pretty sight in there, eh? Probably making you a little queasy at the stomach right about now."

Then again, who wouldn't fell queasy with six portals opened inside of him? What Draven was witnessing at the moment were projections - no, not projections - what Draven was seeing were his own organs, beating, throbbing and pulsing inside his body, visible through the exit portals all around him.

-"Come on," I said, but almost without me noticing, my voice filled with victorious rage. "Come ON, DRAVEN! DO IT! USE YOUR CUTE LITTLE FIRE BLAST NOW AND BURN YOURSELF FROM INSIDE!!!

Okay, makes a bit more sense now once I re-read it.

Meh, sometimes I have to go back and re-read things... a lot...

Please let me voice a few concerns I have.

First of all, Kronos' death. Why is it that both Duilin and Doriana have this strong guttural feeling that Kronos is not fully dead? They saw him turn to dust, and considering that he is the first Lich in DAL (but, as I've mentioned through NPCs, there used to be another one a long time ago -  who permanently died after being killed), how do they know that he isn't dead? "Aura detection" is a thing of the past, so there is absolutely no way they can possibly know that Kronos can't be killed through normal means. Empirical evidence states that when something turns to dust, it usually stays that way, and nobody on the battlefield saw Kronos rise from his ashes and return to his former glory.

Second, Xorlak, by the size of your post, I know that you were probably in a rush, but could you please let me know if the portal attack was too cheap for you to divert it like that? I know I probably should've consulted you over a PM before using something like that, but at the moment, it didn't seem like that big of a deal. It doesn't matter, I had two storylines planned in either direction - if Kronos succeeded in capturing Draven or if he failed. Still, it would be nice if you let me know if you found a major problem with that action. Thanks.

I did not state in my post that Duilin knows Kronos is still alive, he simply has a feeling the danger hasn't passed yet.

No problem with it at all, Ein.  It just gave me an awesome idea, which I'm in the process of acting on.

Draven stores a tremendous amount of energy, which flows outward from him when he is covered in flame.  Opening portals that lead inside his body and surrounding him with them (effectively reversing the flow) is going to have some very... interesting effects.  (Heh...)
